The new HP Veer Hands on
The HP new Veer might be the entry level model in the invigorated webOS range, but that doesn’t mean it’s a not noteworthy handset in its own right. The super compact 2.6-inch smart phone still manage to fit in a sliding QWERTY keyboard, although from what we’ve seen we wouldn’t want to use it for more than just pecking out the odd email reply.
The Palm inheritance is still burly with the Veer, in spite of HP dropping the brand of its gaining, and the plan owes a lot to preceding models. Pebble-sized and neatly curved, it’s evidence to webOS’ cleverness that the stage is still usable. The mixture of gestures and swipes work well, and the 800MHz processor keeps things moving quickly.Because for that keyboard, it’s clearly not going to put back a Blackberry for venture users, but then that’s not HP’s target spectators. Instead, it is supposed to open the door to a new crowd of people step up from characteristic phones. If HP leverages the touch to share functionality well, it the Veer could also end up being the downtime phone of option for Pre3 and Touchpad owners, taking benefit of easy harmonization between devices and contribution an easily approved device.
